We are keen to involve parents and carers in the preparation of our students leaving school at the end of Year 11 or Year 13.
Personalised one to one careers meetings with a qualified independent careers adviser are available for all Year 11 students, and those in any year group on request.
The careers adviser attends relevant parents' evenings including Year 8 Guided Choices, Year 11 and the Post 16 open evening. Parents and Carers can also request meetings at other times to suit them.
Every young person needs to stay in education until they are 18. This can be in the sixth form, at college, an apprenticeship, a traineeship or in a job with approved training.
Your son or daughter will be introduced to the options in Year 10 where they will have an opportunity to meet with different colleges and apprenticeship providers, as well as the Sixth Form. In Year 11 they will make their applications to their preferred institutions, focussing on applications to the Sixth Form and colleges in the Autumn Term and to apprenticeships in the Spring Term. All students are expected to have a Plan A and Plan B in place before they leave school.
